My Poster in the Office

Dave has a poster of all the Muppets and all of his medals and Air Force stuff.

We have a moving picture of the beach.

And to honor me and my life(almost)long devotion to Star Wars, we have this poster. (and if you don't believe my devotion you can just ASK what I would have named Natalie if she would have been a boy. Dave was gone. What was to stop me?)

And because I am in a better mood and still don't feel like writing in complete sentences, I will transcribe it for all to enjoy. (instead of a picture, because, that won't waste as much time, now will it?)

All I Need To Know About Life I Learned From Star Wars
  • Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.
  • Anger, fear, and aggression lead to the Dark Side.
  • In seeking your destiny, patience is your ally.
  • Always let the Wookie win!
  • When judging people, size matters not.
  • Traveling through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops.
  • There's no such thing as luck.
  • Don't underestimate the Force.
  • You must follow your own path; no one can choose it for you.
  • Keep your promises, even if they take you far, far away.
  • Pass on what you have learned.
  • If it smells bad on the outside, it's worse on the inside.
  • The possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1.
  • Wars do not make one great.
  • Faith in your friends is a strength, not a weakness.
  • In your pursuit of peace and justice, remember, the Force will be with you...always.

I was looking at that today and was amazed that every time I read it, I find a different way to apply it to my life. So sorry you non-Star Wars people. But this poster touches my heart. (and if you even THINK about saying something about Star Trek, well...it does NOT touch my heart.)

  2. Glad that your mood is better today. I can relate to mood swings - I have them too. So much, though, that is out of our control, you know? As far as the Star Wars list...well, I can relate to a couple today - but some of them, not so much.
    Hang in there!

  3. Ok, I have to ask... what would you have named Natalie???

And not so much that we are Star Wars nerds, but because we are just plain nerds inspired by Star Wars.... our two brother and sister siamese kittens are named....................

    Luke and Leia.

We are Uber nerds. And I'm ok with that.

  4. ANIKAN. SHE WOULD HAVE NAMED OUR "SON" ANIKAN! Yes there would have been some "discussions" when I returned from Mississippi to meet my "son" ANIKAN!

  5. No, there wouldn't have. I gave birth without a spouse present, so that gave me naming rights. That's the rule.

  6. K that would have been hilarious to have a nephew named Anikan... could we call him Kan for short?

  8. Well, Natalie Wood is my favorite actress of all time - BUT- there IS a Star Wars connection to Natalie, since Natalie Portman was in the movies :) So, in a round about way she is in the Star Wars family of names!
